My friend and I went here last night and were lucky enough to find two seats at the bar open. PS: make a reservation if you have more than one or two people. Once at the bar we were greeted immediately & provided menus by the guests next to us. We had water immediately and then we ordered one drink each for our meal. I ordered an Old Fashioned (14) and my friend ordered a Cucumber Martini (I think 12-14). Both drinks were great & the other drinks the bartenders were making looked delicious as well. I ordered the Pappardelle (36) & she ordered the Spaghetti (22 I believe) & added three meatballs (9). She also ordered a side of Ciabatta bread (6), however, they were out, so she had to order what they did have - Focaccia (10). Unfortunately she had to pay an additional 4 for them being out, however, the Focaccia was still amazing. It paired well with both of our meals. The portions were good for both. Mine was a smaller portion, but still a good one-size serving and her spaghetti was about 3 servings - she was able to bring about 2 servings home with her. The guests next to us ordered the fig pizza and it looked amazing. Overall, the atmosphere was great, not too loud or quiet, the service was on point and the food came out quickly, leaving it still warm when it got to us. I will definitely be back soon. PS: they have gluten free options.
My husband and I went for the first time ever for a 13th wedding anniversary. Our waitress Cheryl was phenomenal. When you walk in the atmosphere is beautiful. You can watch the entire kitchen working and we were able to watch someone make pasta during our entire experience. We both had cocktails starting off. I had the cucumber martini and my husband had an old-fashioned, both delightful. Then he ordered cacio de Pepe and I ordered the Seabass. Our server warned us the sea bass was a while fish, so he did not add protein to his pasta. He said it was the best pasta he’s ever had even without a protein which is a huge compliment from a country boy. We are so lucky to find this little gem in the heart of downtown Georgetown. The owner even came up and talked to us and asked us how our experience was. I even watched her in the kitchen and she really puts her heart into it. I really recommend this place. We’ve been looking for a fantastic Italian restaurant and it was recommended to us by a friend that lives in North Austin even though we live 4 miles away so that has to tell you something. What a fantastic experience to celebrate your lucky 13th anniversary because we were lucky to find this place.
Our waitress was very attentive and gave us a lovely meal. Whoever thought of grilling the wedge salad should get a raise. It was amazing! Everything was on point and paced out between courses. A very delicious experience!
We had a fantastic dinner at La Riv! From the start, our waitress was incredibly friendly and helped us navigate the menu, especially since my wife has a dairy allergy. The bartender was just as helpful, patiently answering all my cocktail questions. We kicked things off with an Amaro Negroni and a Sidecar—both excellent. For appetizers, we went with the mussels, and for the main course, the whole branzino, which was perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed a couple of great glasses of white wine. The wine list had an impressive selection, with great choices from both Italy and the U.S. The restaurant has a relaxed open-kitchen concept, which adds to the warm and inviting atmosphere, while still maintaining a touch of upscale elegance. You can watch the chefs in action, which makes the dining experience even more engaging. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back to try the fresh-made pasta.
We had a fantastic experience at La Riv. It was our first time and we were impressed with the ambiance, food and service. We arrived early for a Thursday evening reservation but we were seated immediately and were able to choose the table. The cheese board and shrimp appetizer were good, the main meals were excellent. The wine was good too. The prices are high but definitely worth it. Great restaurant in a good location. Highly recommended.
12/27/2024 Lunch is always great for me. I get soup or salad as appetizer. Then fresh pasta dish and desert. All accompanied with Italian red wine. I recommend the short rib pasta. The meat is very tender and tasty. The pasta is wide pasta, cooked to perfection (not soft or hard). 6/15/2024. I tried a very fresh meat lazania. This is planned for Father's Day . Extremely fresh pasta and excellent tomato based pasta. All made fresj. Exceptionall taste. Must try for Father's Day tomorrow. Cheese cake is also exceptional . I have enjoyed every bite. Yesterday 5/11/2024 I had a lunch in this restaurants. The lunch menu is different than dinner menu. The pizza that I had is cheese pizza with mushroom on top. It is very delicious thin crust pizza. All ingredients are freshly made including the marina. The ingredients cover the entire pizza which I like. The wood fire add extra taste to the pizza. I saved half of the pizza to take home. I had the pasta rustic, which delicious and freshly made pasta and a great white sauce. The pasta has a unique taste reminds me of gnocchi (potato taste) with great pasta taste. The atmosphere is excellent. Every smells great and clean. Wine is unique and tasty. Very good selection of wine.
My wife and I ate dinner here. The octopus was so delicious. So was the beet salad. The short rib tagliatelle and gnocchi were outstanding. The tiramisu and bread pudding were also so good. Good service too despite it being packed.
My husband and I came here for the first time for Valentine’s and it’s wonderful. We were looking for from scratch pasta and we got it! Server Laura was wonderful. We had mussels, caeser salad, special chicken and mushroom Campanelle, and a delightful valentine chocolate mouse in shape of hearts. It is a pricey but we split everything and had a couple of drinks. Great special night place.
